Shuping focuses on two lines of research. First, she studies the antecedents and consequences of corporate governance, involving ownership structure, monitoring, compensation, and turnover. Second, she explores the microfoundations of strategic leadership by integrating perspectives from both strategy and organizational behavior. Her current papers examine firms in both developed and emerging economies, combining case studies and large sample analyses. Her articles are published (or in press) at Strategic Management and Asia Pacific Journal of Management. Shuping serves as an editorial board member of Management and Organization Review. She has worked and lived in China, Singapore, Canada, and the USA. Prior to joining PolyU, she was a Visiting Assistant Professor at the Kansas State University.
