Organization and management literacy is of increasing importance and relevance. This minor aims to provide non-management majors with the opportunity to equip themselves with basin managerial knowledge and skills.

On successfully completion of the minor programme, the students will be able to:

  • Understand managerial roles and functions, and apply theories to solving organizational problems.
  • Analyze organizational situations, and explain the causes and effects of different scenarios.
  • Offer intellectual arguments for discussing contemporary organization and management issues.

 

All students admitted to the UGC-funded full-time undergraduate programmes in 2012/13 or after with a GPA of 2.5 or above.

Students will be invited to opt for the Major/Minor study path normally in mid-October during Semester 1 of their second year of study. Approved students can register their Minor subjects for the following Semester 2 during the subject registration period after release of class timetable normally in December/January. No late application will be considered.

Students are required to obtain a GPA of at least 2.0 in order to satisfy the requirement for graduation with a Major plus a Minor.

Additional admission requirements may be imposed if the number of students applied to the programme exceeds the student quota.

To fulfil the credit requirement of a Minor award, students should take 6 subjects from the following list, one of which is the compulsory subject “Management & Organization (MM2021), and three of which must be at level 3 or above.
